Ever heard of a virgin romance author?
Now you have. Spoiler alert it’s as sad as it sounds.
My roommate thinks I should do some research to help my writer’s block.
When a billionaire publishing executive rejects my book, she has the perfect idea.
The perfectly terrible idea of tricking him into bidding on me through a BDSM site.

I know how it sounds. Crazy. Stupid. Irresponsible. Check, check, check. I couldn’t agree more.

Yes, he’s practically dripping with sex appeal. Yes, any woman with a pulse would kill for a “hello” from him. And yes, he looks like he belongs on a movie screen.

But as far as I’m concerned, he’s just the jerk who rejected my book, and all I care about is getting a chance to tell him off in person. That’s it. Mostly.

Then again, maybe my roommate has a point. A night with him would probably give me enough material to fill half a book.

He wants more than a night, though. He wants a month. And he wants me to sign a contract saying I’m completely and totally his.

I can sign the contract and basically become the heroine from one of my books, or I can say no and keep on living my normal, boring life. Hmm, tough call

**This is a full-length, standalone billionaire BDSM romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and as always, Happily Ever After guaranteed.

I didn't care for it. (Spoilers alert) From the description, it had an interesting if similar story direction to 50 shades of G. However, it didn't deliver. A young college student virgin, an experienced BDSM billionaire that wanted to show her the "ropes" essentially, but the story was all over the place. It was like cramming three books worth of events into what essentially was a short story. Just too much going on to and very little character and plot development. You were given one or two sentences or a paragraph background about someone or a part of the plot, and just expected to get the strong emotional connection that it had with the H or h. I really didn't care much about the H or the h nor their happiness ultimately. Why was he such a dick to the people that worked for him in the opening pages, only to never revisit those characters again in the entire story, what was the point of even mentioning them to the reader? Part of the story discussed abuse about the H and his sister as foster children, but again, why did this person (foster parent) do this to them? Many unanswered questions for me and too similar to FSOG without meeting the mark. The D/s relationship only filtered in a little bit, and seemed a side note to the story as a whole, certainly not enough to make it part of the title. It seemed that everything was to the extreme because we were just "told so", but with little reasoning behind it. Why the accident at a racetrack, was that just to show he was rich, racing was never brought back into the story again so, what was the point of this? How could he run up a flight stairs after just leaving the hospital with an injured foot? The part about the Dominican's and the revenge against the H, was just rather silly. For example, towards the end of the story, the H pay's off the Dominicans with an agreement of 100 million a year for the rest of his life, with agreement that they'd leave him and his loved ones alone, they countered with another higher offer and the H took it. Ummm, ok, that seems extreme, and doubtful that they even lost 100 million in the initial "bad investment" to begin with, certainly not a reason to pay back that much for the rest of your life. That was just one part that seemed unbelievable to the point of exaggeration for no good reason, there were many others too.

I will l say this, I know nothing about writing a book and good on someone for attempting it. But a bit less is more, I think, if you're looking for any creative feedback from a reading fan. It seemed like the person writing the book was actually a 22 year old virgin, and her story was all over the place with so many ideas that she could not decide upon where to go next.

Yes, the story had spicy sexy scenes and those were the highlight of the story for me and the only reason it wasn't a total waste of time. The rest was just not well thought out, unorganized and just not very good. Do writers use storyboards, or a timeline of events to realize where the story starts, where it moves, and where it's headed? I'd recommend that if they don't use something like that already, or some honest friends that can provide some honest feedback on story sequence and development.

There are two other stories included in this kindle edition, I don't think I can read them based upon this story and it's lack of focus.
This writer has potential, but like part of the story line mentioned, this seemed like an unorganized first draft that was never reviewed by an editor or someone paying attention to the progress and development of the story as a whole.

The Dom Virgin A Dark Billionaire Romance edition by Penelope Bloom Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

The story line started out pretty good, then got a little convoluted. Young college girl just wants to write romance novels, publishing billionaire just wants a submissive. The backstory for the hero starts out solid with the mysterious death of a previous submissive, but then gets a little crazy with mafia guys. There are some editing errors that are a bit irritating. In one scene a guy attacking the heroine goes from a 30/40 yr old guy with a thick Latin accent to a simpering college kid all in the space of 3 paragraphs. A little confusing....In another instance, the author has the heroine dressed in a black mini with heels for a date at the local put-putt golf, say what? And finally, the hero is going to pay the cartel a hundred million a year ad infinite, seriously? Still, I enjoyed the story overall. It's a good read for a lazy rainy day.
First of all, this is two short stories, not one long one. I was finished with "The Dom's Virgin" at the 41% mark. And although they are written by the same author, the two stories are from two different series. I am not impressed enough with this one to attempt the other one.

Second, the story needs a good editor. There are grammar errors and storyline inconsistencies scattered throughout the story. It's quite distracting and a personal irritation for me.

Third, the story isn't believable in the least. Both main characters are stereotypical in the extreme. She sees herself as plain and can't believe that her attempts at writing will ever amount to anything because she "just isn't any good". He is a drop dead gorgeous man so rich he will never run out of money no matter how he spends it. Naturally, he had a terrifyingly rough childhood but managed to claw his way to the top of the book publishing industry to become famous and rich. He is also a stock market God who always invests well. Of course, he reads the first few chapters of a book the heroine hasn't been able to finish in several years and is beyond impressed with her writing. She really is a genius at writing and just needs to be convinced. Another far fetched idea is that this entire story takes place over two weeks--in which both main characters fall hopelessly in love with each other.

The "suspense" element of the book (which is supposed to lend some mystery, intrigue and tension to the story) fails miserably. The reason the mafia is after the hero is ridiculous, to put it mildly. And naturally, the hero manages to kick the tar out of every thug the mafia sends to "get" him. In the end, the hero buys his way out of the trouble he's in--and he's so rich he can afford to pay the "paltry" sum of 100 million dollars annually for the rest of his life.

Lastly, the one or two sex scenes in the story were, to quote the hero, prudish and forgettable.

I wouldn't bother with this one. It's not even good enough to qualify as a "quick, light-hearted read" and it certainly isn't erotic enough to overlook the storyline and writing issues for the sex scenes. I feel like this was written by a teenager who imagines what adulthood and sex might be, but isn't even close to accurate. Find something else.
So..Brianne is a college student who wants to be a romance writer but gets stuck on the sex scenes because...she's a virgin. Jackson is a wealthy man who owns a publishing company and into some BDSM and looking for a new submissive. She decides, with the help of her friend, to use him to "learn" and thereby get material to write her romance. They both have things they hide from each other (although his is a little more on the dangerous side).
I thought the premise was great, the characters very likable and boy, that first scene in the playroom! It just felt, at times, that things were a little rushed. His whole "secret", the unravelling of it and the outcome of it, I thought could have used a little more "meat". When everything looked like it was coming to a head, I didn't really feel the urgency I thought I should. However, it was an entertaining read.
